A townhouse owner shared his irritation about 'the renter next door' parking in his designated spot, even after he took matters into his own hands. Every homeowner in his area has their own parking space, yet the neighbour renting a property chose to leave their vehicle in his spot "over six times", which left him no choice but to use someone else's.
He reached his wit's end and "left a very nice note" insisting that the person shouldn't " there if you don't live there", but the neighbour continued to ignore his plea. "It is literally my property," the exasperated man declared on , wondering what he could do about the problem.
Commenters on his post suggested taking a firmer tone, with one advising: "It might pay to be more direct in the note.

"Instead of adding 'If you don't live here,' be clear and state that they have parked in your parking space that is allocated to your home."
The same person added: "If they do this again, you will be forced to get their vehicle towed. I would also send an e-mail to their landlord advising them of the issue and include a copy of the note left on their tenant's vehicle, just to keep them in the loop and informed of the situation. Good luck!"
Another added: "I mean, if you've left a note and they continue to park there, then you can politely but firmly tell them you'll have their vehicle towed from your spot, and then you would need to follow through on that to have it done."
Another individual wrote: "You sometimes have to be tough and just put a note don't park in my parking spot. It is not yours and next time it will be towed."
Meanwhile, a third suggested the person may have misunderstood his note. She penned: "You say you left 'a very nice note' not to park in your space 'if [they] don't live here'.
"Do you think they might have thought you meant 'in the complex?'
"The better option would be a note saying 'parking spaces are assigned. This is my spot. Please don't park in it again. If you continue to park here, I will have to have your car towed'.
"You've been direct, you've been clear that this particular space is yours, and you've made expectations clear. That really should do the trick."
One man chimed in: "I parked behind my neighbour when they did this.
"They had to knock on my door and beg me to move my car so they could go to work. I made them wait 30 more minutes before moving my car. They never did it again."
